It may not be the first city to spring to mind when it comes to partying the night away but Dusseldorf has some of the best pubs and bars in Europe - and there are plenty of them.
The best place to go for nightlife in Dusseldorf is the Old Town, more locally known as Alstadt. The Old Town is famous for pub-crawls as there are more than 300 pubs and bars to choose from in just five square miles of narrow streets and alleyways. Locals refer to a night out at the Altstadt as an Altstadttbummel.

The Altstadt region is famous for its locally brewed beer known as Altbier (old beer). Made from an old traditional recipe, Altbier is only brewed in a few places in the world. Traditional German pubs are aplenty in Dusseldorf and this is the best place to sample Altbier and the plethora of other locally brewed beers.
Dusseldorf Nightclubs
There are more pubs than clubs in Dusseldorf but if you feel the need to dance the night away, you should head to the Bilk Quarter, where you’ll find many dance clubs and late bars that stay open all night.
